The novel "The Hearts of Three" opened a new direction in Jack London's work. "It's positive I never wrote anything like it before; it's almost positive I'll never write anything like it again," he observes. "And I'm not in the least ashamed to say how proud I am to have written it."
The novel was completed just before the writer's death and was published in 1919–1920 in the New York Journal. The novel is based on the idea of Charles Goddard. The young descendant of the pirate Henry Morgan, who left him a rich inheritance, wants to find the treasure of his ancestor. Along the way, he meets his distant cousin, also named Henry Morgan. Together they will discover dangerous adventures, unknown lands and love. In 1992, the novel was adapted into a film and released under the same title as a television mini-series in Russia and Ukraine.
