The healer of Levski. the incredible story of Father Neofit Kalchev. health recipes
Vasil Levski, the Apostle of Freedom, lived in this world only 35 years before crossing the threshold of immortality. In his struggle for liberation from Turkish slavery, fate sent him faithful helpers. One of them is the folk healer hieromonk Neofit Kalchev. He and Father Matei Preobrazhenski-Mitkaloto managed to heal Levski from an incurable wound in the abdomen. Their help is invaluable so that the Apostle can continue his holy mission. The humble hieromonk Neofit Kalchev lived through the Liberation, but never flaunted his services to the homeland. He continues to do what he does best - to heal people and to be a teacher. Life confronts him with humiliations, persecutions, difficulties. But also with royal honors. He was personally awarded by the Bulgarian Tsar Ferdinand I and the Russian Emperor Nicholas II. Neofit Kalchev created and published the first Bulgarian encyclopedia of folk medicine, part of which is included in this edition. He treats thousands of people without asking for money. As is often the case, he was quickly forgotten after his death. The communist coup of September 9, 1944 marked the beginning of a period in which folk medicine was denied and Neofit Kalchev's book was publicly burned. Bulgaria owes a lot to the Healer of Levski. This book is a modest contribution to our historical memory.
